If mass transit or public parking is part of your daily work commute, the commuter benefits program can save you money. Plus, automatic deductions make paying for your monthly expenses a whole lot easier.
How it works
- You set aside pretax money that you can use for qualified parking, transit passes and vanpooling.
- The IRS allows you to set aside up to $340 per month pretax for public transportation and parking expenses in 2026.
- Rivian deducts your contributions from your paycheck on a pretax basis.
- You can enroll or stop participating anytime through HealthEquity. Changes can be made from the first to the tenth of each month, and are effective the first of the following month. Example: you have from January 1 to January 10 to change your benefit elections, which would be effective from February 1 onwards.
